What Is A Community Forest
The Clinton and District Community Forest (CCF) has a 25 year, Area-based long term Community Forest agreement with the Province of BC and has a current license area of 62,374 Hectares. The CCF has a current annual allowable cut of 20,000 m3 per year and 100,000 m3 per cut control period (5 Year Term).
The Community Forest is 100% Municipality owned, meaning the Village of Clinton is the sole shareholder. After operational costs are met, surplus funds are given back to the community and surrounding area. To Date Clinton Community Forest (CCF) has distributed over $700,000.00 back to the Community and surrounding area.
The Clinton and District Community Forest is governed by a Board of Directors, approved and appointed by the Village of Clinton. The Board currently consists of seven (7) Volunteer Directors who are all residents of the community. The Board seeks to benefit the local area through programs such as the Firewood donation program, the Scholarships and Bursaries Program and the Community Funding Program.
